Every year, there are about 50 million girls ages 9-15 are forced to marry men who are way older than them. Aside from being physically incapable and unprepared, these girls get robbed of their right to grow, study and play. They are also emotionally unprepared making them dependent to their 'husbands'. While some perform this because of culture, other men or in some case, women, do this for pleasure.
This story for one, went viral after a 12-year-old girl was brought to a Chinese hospital named Xuzhou City Central Hospital located at the East China's Jiangsou Province. The doctors were shocked to find out that she 3-months pregnant! With her was a 40-year old man who claimed to be her husband and a woman claiming to be the mother-in-law.
The man insisted that the girl is already 20-years-old but doctors wouldn't buy it. She looked much younger. “It’s obvious she is just a child, and certainly not anywhere near 20 years old.”said one of the staff.
“I took her here to be examined – just do your job. Stop asking so many questions.” the man answered causing a slight havoc in the hospital. But doctors did not let this abuse continue and called the police to have the man arrested.
It was later found out that the girl wasn't Chinese but is from a Southeast Asian country that is yet to be identified.
