One of the most important lessons you should learn when driving is to always keep your eyes on the road and your hand on the wheel. However, not a lot of people seem to pay attention to this as a lot of drivers are involved in serious accidents due to the fact that they constantly check their phone while driving on the road.
Such is the tragic story of this mother from Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire who was too distracted by her phone that she ended up crashing the car she was driving.
Hannah Wood was sending a text message to one of her friends while she was driving her Mini Cooper which eventually crashed into a tree and burst out in flames.
The sudden inferno immediately took the life of Wood who is only 30 years old and has a four-year-old son Jamie with her partner Jon.
Because of this tragedy, her friends have been trying to raise funds for the family that the deceased left behind.
Sarah Hodges, her friend, said that she received text messages from Wood in between 12:27pm and 12:28pm. She heard nothing from Wood after that.
Meanwhile, Antonia Hinder, another friend of Wood, said she even spoke to her on the phone around 12:28 pm.
Collision Investigator, PC Joseph Sample confirmed that Wood was indeed using her phone before the accident occurred.
