Pia Wurtzbach showed that she is not just a beauty queen but also a caring sister to Miss Philippines' Maxine Madina as she comforted her after the 65th Miss Universe coronation night.
This picture went immediately viral as it showed Wurtzbach giving a comforting hug to Medina. Medina was able to enter top 6 but failed to advance as one of the top 3 finalists. Jonas Gaffud of Aces and Queens who trained both Medina and Wurtzbach for the pageant posted this photo on Instagram.
On the other hand, model-host Richard Juan also took to Instagram his own version of the picture showing Wurtzbach trying to comfort Maxine's emotions after losing to Miss France's Iris Mittenaere.
According to Juan, Queen Pia personally went to Medina just to assure her that everything will be fine while she was hugging her.
"The best part about this photo is it shows what kind of Queen Pia is. She took the initiative to actually look for Maxine in the sea of girls just to hug her and (probably) tell her everything will be okay. We love you, Maxine, we love you Pia,” Juan shared on Instagram.
Medina was able to qualify in the Question-and-Answer portion with an interpreter, where she was asked about the most significant event that she had witnessed in the last 10 years.
She answered it with: "The last 10 years of being here in the world is that I saw all the people being in one event like this in Miss Universe, and it’s something big to us that we are one, as one nation, we are all together."
On the other hand, Wurtzbach expressed satisfaction for the results of the 65th Miss Universe pageant, calling Iris Mittenaere a 'truly deserving winner'.
